Watching from a suite was Taylor Swift, the pop icon whose presence at Chiefs games has become a recurring storyline. Also in that suite was Hollywood heavyweight Tom Cruise, adding another layer of star power to the evening. Kelce, who joined the Chiefs in 2013, has helped the franchise secure three Super Bowl titles. Since Swift began appearing at his games, the NFL has seen a notable influx of new viewers, particularly younger women, and the league has been actively working to convert that surge into lasting fan engagement.

In a surprising twist that same night, Swift appeared in a pre-taped sketch for the Emmy Awards, poking fun at the relentless speculation about whether she would show up. The bit, styled as a Law & Order: Special Victims Unit parody, featured Mariska Hargitay returning as Captain Olivia Benson. In the sketch, Hargitay's character announced, "The Emmys are tonight, and the mayor's office is breathing down my neck demanding an answer to the big question: Will Taylor Swift be at the Emmys?" She then explained that cracking a "Swifty case" required thinking like a Swifty, since fans interpret every detail as a clue about Swift's next move. Swift played along, dropping absurd hints while the squad tried to figure out if she'd actually attend. Hargitay, who has portrayed Benson since 1999 and won an Emmy for the role in 2006, anchored the parody with her signature deadpan style.

Earlier in the summer, the couple drew widespread attention by hosting a large wedding celebration at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Kelce later described the experience: "It was cool to live out my childhood dream of being in that venue, the mecca of all sports venues. To be able to get married there. I thanked the owners of MSG for allowing us to get the opportunity to do that, knowing that we wanted a private event and it was perfect." The Garden, which first opened in 1968, has hosted legends ranging from Muhammad Ali to Pope John Paul II, and it seldom shuts its doors for private weddings, making the couple's event a rare exception.

On the music front, Swift is earning awards attention for "I Knew It, I Knew You," a track from the "Toy Story 5" soundtrack.
